WHEELING, W.Va. -- Wheeling Jesuit claimed its second-straight Mountain East Conference Tournament title with a 3-0 victory over Fairmont State, 25-10, 25-14 and 25-17.
The Cardinals improve to 35-3 on the year and will look to continue their season in the NCAA Tournament. The loss dropped Fairmont State's record to 24-7 on the year. The NCAA Selection Show is Sunday night at 10 p.m.
WJU hit .340 in the championship match with 41 kills and just eight errors. Kayce Krucki led the squad with 15 kills and 10 digs, and Emma Schleucher added 10 kills. Andrea Thobe distributed 32 assists and Mackenzie Ripley had a game-high 32 digs. Wheeling Jesuit had a 56-38 edge in total digs in the match.
FSU got 11 kills from Makenzie Harrison, and Erin Harwood added seven. Tabbie Bias registered 29 assists.
