DANIELS, W.Va. -- Shepherd had five players post scores in the 70s to take the first round lead at the Mountain East Conference Tournament the Cobb Course at Glade Springs.

SU's Ryan Crabtree shares the first round lead with West Liberty's Matt Iceton after carding a 74. The Rams' Brandon Dang (75) and Robert Fleming (75) are tied for third, and Joey Burkinshaw (78) and Erik Williams (78) also turned in solid first rounds to help Shepherd post a first-day total of 302. West Liberty is four shots back at 306, and Glenville State is in third with a 310. 

Notre Dame College sits in fourth at 315, followed closely by Charleston (317) and Wheeling Jesuit (319). 

The second day of the 54-hole tournament continues tomorrow morning.
