Charleston's Lauren Crouse
DANIELS, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston won its first Mountain East Conference Women's Golf title on Wednesday at Glade Springs Resort.
The Golden Eagles led wire-to-wire at the tournament and finished 32 shots better than runner-up Notre Dame College. Two-time MEC champions Wheeling Jesuit finished third at the championship.
Individually, Concord's Natalia Jornet took home medalist honors after carding a final round 76 for a three-day total of 234. Notre Dame's Brianna Stokes closed with a 76 as well to finish runner-up (239), and UC's Lauren Crouse took third with a score of 244. WVWC's Katie Casey wasf fourth (247) and Charleston's Elizabeth Karsten rounded out the top five shooting 248.
