Notre Dame Wins MEC Women's Soccer Tournament

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame College prevailed in penalty kicks for the second-straight game and claimed the 2016 Mountain East Conference Women's Soccer Tournament title.

The top-seeded Falcons and second-seeded Charleston played 110 minutes scoreless before moving on to penalties. Notre Dame earned the title by winning 4-2 in the shootout. Leading 3-2, Megan O'Conner stepped to the spot and converted the title-clinching shot for the Falcons.

NDC will now prepare for the upcoming 2016 NCAA Tournament, and will wait for Monday night's Tournament Selection Show to see where they will be seeded and playing next. The University of Charleston and West Virginia Wesleyan also appeared in the most recent NCAA Atlantic Region rankings that are used to determine the tournament field.
