BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Notre Dame College's Leonardo Paiva is the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week, while Charleston's Fabian Veit s the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
Paiva, a junior from Brazil, scored a hat trick in Notre Dame's only game of the week, a 4-1 triumph over No. 16 Urbana. He got the Falcons on the board early in the fifth minute, and then added another in the second half to help put the game out of reach. Paiva is second in the MEC this year with seven goals to his credit.
Veit, a senior from Dielheim, Germany, became UC's all-time leader in shutouts last week and helped the Golden Eagles to a pair of wins last week. He was forced to make five saves in a 2-0 win over Seton Hill and made another save in the win over Chowan. Veit now has 35 shutouts for his career and leads the league with a 0.50 goals-against average.

Taevon Spencer (WJU) netted three goals in a non-conference win over Pitt-Johnstown ... Raphael Northoff (UU) had three goals and one assist last week ... one of his goals was featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays ... Max Simpson (CU) had the game-winning assist as the Mountain Lions knocked off the Bobcats ... Luca Falconeri (WVWC) had the game winner against Wheeling Jesuit and tallied an assist against Concord.
Defense: Alessandro Armenia (WVWC) made four saves in a shutout win over Wheeling Jesuit ... Pedro Bassin (CU) headed in the game-winner on a free kick against West Virginia Wesleyan ... Daniele De Angelis (NDC) made two saves in a win over Urbana.
