DANIELS, W.Va.
-- In its first NCAA appearance as a team, Dominican captured the 2017 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Men's Golf championship by a single shot over St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday afternoon at The Resort at Glade Springs.

The Chargers shot a final round score of 301, just two shots better than the Spartans. Leonard Lee's one-under 71 helped give Dominican the title. Jayce Robinson and Danny Parker each shot 76, while teammate Hunter Westcott turned in a 78.

In addition to Dominican and St. Thomas Aquinas, the University of Charleston and Le Moyne also punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships in a few weeks, and both did it dramatic fashion. UC was in ninth coming into the final round, but turned in the best round of the tournament with a total of 290 to jump to third. Le Moyne's John Clare sank a birdie putt on the final hole to secure his team's spot in the finals.

Clare finished as medalist after his three-under 69 on Wednesday. Mercyhurst's Chris Kupniewski was second finishing at even par for the tournament, and Millersville's Connor Sheehan was third at one-over par after his second-straight 70. Kupniewski and Sheehan will advance to the NCAA Championships as individuals.
