The Mountain East Conference has received official notice of Shepherd University’s intent to withdraw from the league.

While the institutions that comprise the MEC will now change in 2019 for the first time since our inception five years ago, our mission and our dedication on behalf of and among our committed members will not.

The enormous success that our institutions have had since joining the Mountain East Conference — what in sum amounts to unprecedented levels of success in the collective histories of our institutions — has provided validation for our vision and execution as a conference and that vision will endure.

We take great pride that the Mountain East has provided a platform for regional and national success in NCAA Division II, and we look forward to more of the same in the future.
